ACLU Donation Prints

Things have been uncomfortable lately, but it’s just been a taste. I haven’t been able to be on the front lines, but I promise I hear you. This painting was physically painful to make. I scratched and I clawed the paint into the canvas with my bare hands. The remnants are still under my nails. But that’s nothing. Not even worth mentioning to the families who have lost people. To the protestors out there getting hurt. To the children who have to be taught to show they’re non threatening. To explaining “accidents” based on assumptions, based on racism. I wasn’t sure what to do, and painting is a muscle I haven’t used in a long, long time – and I know it shows – but it felt right. So, after much deliberation, I decided to sell prints of this painting. 100% of the proceeds will go to the ACLU. In order to do that I have to sell it directly because art selling platforms take a portion of sales and that’s unacceptable in this case. I will have it available on my website to be purchased or you can contact me directly. #blm #blacklivesmatter #blackouttuesday
